Abstract

The article presents an empirical research of the subjective picture of life’s journey of self-confident and unconfident first-year students. It is shown that the main structural-conceptual characteristics of the subjective picture of life’s journey of unconfident first-year students are: low level of self-determination in relation to life in whole; inability to organize a single life line; understanding of one’s life as a series of accidental, isolated events, and not as an integral process having a definite direction, continuity and meaning; tendency of “narrowing of temporal transpective” because of disregard of supporting, activating, directing potential of realized events and lack of their integration into an integral picture of life’s journey; emotional unengagement; detachment from one’s life in combination with dissatisfaction with life and pessimistic perception of events.
