Academic Motivation and Self-Regulation of Students Depending on the Degree of Satisfaction of Basic Psychological Needs in Distance Learning Conditions

Abstract

The article presents a description of the results of a study of the relationship between indicators of academic motivation scales (the SHAM questionnaire adapted by T.O. Gordeeva), self-organization of activities (E.Yu. Mandrikova), self-regulation of behavior “SSPM-2020” (V.I. Morosanova), emotional regulation J. Gross (Pankratova A.A., Kornienko D.S.) and the degree of satisfaction of basic psychological needs at the university (Gordeeva T.O., Osin E.N., Sychev O.A.) among students of distance learning. The hypothesis about the existence of differences in the level of motivation and self-regulation of distance learning students depending on the degree of satisfaction of basic psychological needs was confirmed. The results obtained confirmed the position of the high importance of satisfying basic psychological needs in the formation and maintenance of motivation in the educational activities of distance learning students. The connections between motivation indicators and the skills of self-organization of activities are more restrained in comparison with the connections between indicators of self-regulation of behavior, showing some close connections mainly with internal types of motivation among students with different degrees of satisfaction with the BPP. Recommendations for the development of academic motivation of distance learning students are presented, considering the results of the empirical study.
