To the question of justification of the model of the professional activity of legal psychologist

Abstract

The contribution presents a model of professional activity of legal psychologist. It describes the directions of activity in the context of rendering of psychological help in difficult and legally significant life situations. It proposes a definition of the notion “legally significant situation”, in which the key components are the conflict interaction of the subjects of the situation in legal context and psychological consequences for its participants. The authors identify the main directions of activity of the psychologist through the description of the aims of psychological help and the content of the specialist’s activity. Prevention is understood as creation of resource conditions for successful formation and development of personality which facilitate coping with difficult life situations. Support is viewed as creation of adequate and psychologically advantageous conditions for participants of specific activity. Rehabilitation is defined from the point of view of the cultural-historical approach as the creation of substitute social situation of the client’s development. The contribution discusses the necessity and possibility of construction of a conception of psychological service in organizations, describes the author’s model of professional activity of the legal psychologist.
