The Problem of Life-Arrangements of Orphans and Children Left without Parental Care: International Practice and Research

The life-arrangements of orphans and children left without parental care is one of the major challenges of our time. The paths of socialization, entrance to the full-scale life of such a child are difficult and very diverse. Both domestic and foreign studies show that there are advantages and disadvantages in each of them. The main objective of this review is a weighted analysis of the circumstances of the child's placement in the existing care systems in a given State system. Clearly, the characteristics of personal development and life history of the child are considered as important conditions. The closest experience of life-arrangements of orphans and children left without parental care to Russia’s is of Eastern Europe, namely the most attention is given to the studies of our colleagues from Serbia.
