On the Issue of Improving the Organization of PTSD Prevention and Psychorehabilitation Measures in the Work of a Psychologist with Participants of the SMO
Abstract
The history of the development of ideas about post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in military personnel: from ancient times, when the first cases of psychogenic losses were described in Herodotus's “History”, to the Special Military Operation (SMO) in Ukraine, during which the classic “shell shock”, known since the First World War, was supplemented by dronephobia and its psychological consequences, is revealed in the article. The purpose of this article is to discover the possibilities of improving the organization of PTSD prevention and psychorehabilitation measures in the work of a psychologist with SMO participants. Research design. Based on the analysis of real cases of PTSD of military personnel described in the media in the public domain, to identify psychological difficulties in solving combat missions, as well as problems of preparing military personnel for the conditions of the SMO and providing them with psychorehabilitation assistance in the relevant institutions. Results. During the study, we came to the following results: When training the command staff of the RF Armed Forces, it is necessary to saturate the training programs with knowledge, skills and abilities of a psychological nature as much as possible. As part of the psychological training of soldiers, it is necessary to take into account the peculiarities of the occurrence of “shell shock” and dronephobia. When implementing psychorehabilitation measures, it is necessary to take into account the specifics of the psycho-traumatic experience of the fighters of the SMO. Conclusion: the use of the proposals developed by the authors in organizing training events and providing assistance to participants of the SMO will help to reduce psychogenic losses in combat operations and increase the combat readiness of the RF Armed Forces.
