Abstract

The article deals with relevant for social and developmental psychology problem related to specifics of intra-group status and entry stage of developing personality into its referent students group. The study was carried out on high school and university students. The results indicate that even a subjective representation of boys and girls about their entry stage to the class or a student group significantly correlates with the integral intra-group status they have in their referent community. Those high school students who are on the adaptation stage to a real students group almost never have a high status position, and university students usually have middle status. Actively individualized high school students mainly have a high status position in the group and only occasionally – the middle status position; university students on the individualization stage usually have either low or high status. Students (both high school and university) integrated into the group can hold any - high status, middle status or low status – position.
