Standardization of the Methodology to Study the Causes of the Propensity to Lie of Adolescent Individuals

The article presents the standardization of the author's methodology to study the propensity of young men and girls to lie based on the analysis of its components and value-sense determinants. The article substantiates the peculiarities of the questionnaire design in connection with the lack of diagnostic material. The technique includes statements distributed on three main scales (prerequisites, factors, conditions). Testees evaluate their attitude, choose one of 10 points and enter it into the questionnaire form. To standardize the methodology, the following methods were used: 1) quantitative analysis; 2) subjective assessment; 3) calculation of mathematical statistics (descriptive statistics, Spearman's correlation coefficient, Cronbach's alpha). Test subjects: cadets of the fire-rescue college in the number of 50 people. The results of the questionnaire were correlated with the obtained data on the methodology of diagnostics of self-assessment of approval motivation (lie scale) by D. Marlow and D. Crown. A strong positive correlation was revealed (P = 0.736; p = 0.01), indicating statistically proven validity of the author's methodology. Reliability analysis using Cronbach's alpha coefficient showed a high level of internal consistency of characteristics (a = 0.856). Retest reliability was checked 5 months after the initial diagnosis. The overall correlation amounted to P = 0.984, p = 0.01.
