The Problem of Joint Activity: Tradition and Perspectives

Abstract

This work focuses on one of the most essential topics in the social psychology of small groups, that is, on the function of joint activity in intragroup situations. The paper outlines the distinction between 'group activity' and 'joint activity', analyzes the definitions of the latter, describes features of objective and subjective joint activities as well as characteristics of collective subject of activity. The final part highlights the possible topics for further research into joint activity in small groups.
