Induced family alienation: new data and new considerations on parental alienation. Part I.

The article publishes the results of the application in Brazil of a virtual questionnaire for brazilian children of divorced parents, whose object was the study of Parental Alienation. The research had as a starting point the studies of Richard Gardner on the Syndrome of the Parental Alienation and works of Amy Baker and Douglas Darnall. The author compiled a questionnaire designed for children of divorced parents, published on legal sites, social networks and in Brazilian blogs. The questionnaire collected quantitative and qualitative data indicating the expansion of the active and passive subjects of this practice (grandparents, brothers, stepfathers as agents and victims of alienation), reaffirms the degrees of strategies and practices (light, moderate and serious acts, causing psychological or non-psychological damage to children and adolescents) and scenarios where Parental Alienation can be glimpsed. The article analyzes the most important psychological concepts; summarizes the data obtained by the researcher as a result of the application of the questionnaire; proposes the new approach to the phenomenon of alienation as "forced family alienation".
