Abstract

The article examines a new method of working with gifted children at schools in China, based upon the principle of student-centeredness. It describes the opportunities given to gifted children in this country, the nature of educational strategies for such learners and methods of their selection. It notes interesting experience of intercrossing of educational methods of China and the USA. It also analyzes the unity and differences between methods of education of gifted learners in China and the United States, shows several new tendencies which now manifest in Chinese educational institutions.
