The paper presents the results of the study of psychological characteristics of schoolchildren at the age of 11–12 years old. Various individual characteristics – emotional, volitional and intellectual qualities, personality traits, motivation and the type of nervous system – were taken into account in the complex testing of the fifth graders. Results of factor analysis of diagnostic data of the group of pupils of fifth grades have allowed to reveal the strong connections between personal, individual psychological characteristics and level of school maladaptation.
