The perception of facial expression in the Thatcher illusion
Abstract
This work is devoted to the study of the particulars of the perception of images of a normal face and of a Thatcher Illusion face with different orientations of the image and the degree of severity of expressions. It is shown that the change in the orientation of the image lead to significant changes in the content and structure of categorical field of basic expressions. The influence of transformations of face images, causing the illusion of Margaret Thatcher, on the perception of basic emotions is selective in its nature.
