The Using of «Child and Adolescent Social Support Scale» K. Malecki in Psychological Diagnosis of Children and Adolescents with Psychosomatic Health Disorders

Abstract

The main psychodiagnostic instruments to measure a social support as socio-psychological phenomenon in childhood and adolescence are described; characterizes the scale of social support for children and adolescents K.Maletski (CASSS), which aims to identify the subjective assessment of the frequency of social support for adolescents, as well as its subjective importance. Results of criterion validity of this scale, which were obtained with use of the comparison method of contrasting groups been presented, in which the total number of subjects was more than 300 adolescents aged 10-16 years. The differences in the assessment of the frequency and importance of social support provided between groups of healthy adolescents, adolescents with anxiety, depression and somatization been analyzed. It shows that this psychodiagnostic research method can be used in the practice of working with adolescents with various psychosomatic health disorders.
