This article presents brief characteristics of ideas about self-injurious behavior and related research in domestic and foreign psychology. Empirical results of search of risk factors for self-injurious behavior in adolescents with different types of psychopathology are set out. Comprehensively surveyed teens 13-17 years in normal development (20 pers.) and endogenous mental pathology (28 pers.). The estimation of general and specific risk factors for self-injurious behavior in different types of mental disorder (schizophrenia and psychopathic disorder) been conducted. The complex evaluation of personality and self-harm behaviors integrative factors included: self-injurious behavior questionnaire, Buss–Perry Aggression Questionnaire, Emotional Intelligence Test, The Rosenzweig Picture-Frustration Study, the Dembo-Rubinstein scale. Found that adolescents with mental disorders index self-harm behaviors significantly higher than normative peers. Revealed that different types of psychopathology have their significant relationships of self-harm behavior index with other investigated personal parameters, and for each of the clinical groups, these relationships are different.This article presents brief characteristics of ideas about self-injurious behavior and related research in domestic and foreign psychology.
