Guilt and sin

1687

Abstract

The article focuses on two issues: differences in feelings of guilt and a sense of sin with the psychological and spiritual perspectives; and the problem of the ontological and functional transition of individuals from feelings of guilt to a sense of sin. The factors that help an individual to obtain a release from guilt and sin in repentance and confession are proposed. The authors emphasize that sin does not belong to the essence of personality, but has temporary and external nature, man can live with sin, and can get rid of it — it's one's free choice. The role of psychologist is questioned and the role of pastor in this process also is discussed.
