On the Concept of Biographical Self-Reflection and Its Assessment

3402

Abstract

The paper reviews the concept and structure of biographical self-reflection. The structure of biographical self-reflection is set by the system of functional components (personal, social perceptive, cognitive and config¬urative), and the connections between them shape one's reflections on his/her life experiences or reflections on the path of life. The paper describes a technique for assessing biographical self-reflection that was developed by the author basing on the proposed model and provides data proving its reliability (internal consistency and test-retest reliability) and validity (factor, criterion, convergent and discriminant validity). The study involved 250 subjects aged 17—60 years.
