Methods of neuropsychological correction in Mexican preschoolers with attention deficit disorder

1274

Abstract

The article presents results of neuropsychological correction of 14 Mexican preschoolers with attention deficit disorder. The correctional programme was based on neuropsychological analysis developed within the framework of A.R. Luria's approach. The correction was aimed at developing voluntary activity and purposeful communication in peer group. The main methods were group and individual games, drawing, symbolization, and various forms of purposeful activity carried out with psychologist's help. Outer mediacy (as concrete actions and objects in play activity followed by psychologist's speech) was used as well. The final neuropsychological examination showed that there was a significant improvement in solving tasks that included mechanisms of planning and controlling, of motor organization of action and activity, and spatial analysis and synthesis mechanisms. The results of correctional work prove the effectiveness of the program in working with preschoolers with attention deficit disorder.
