Diagnosis of Communicative Competence of Junior Schoolchildren

Abstract

The article is devoted to the description of approaches to the characterization of communicative competence and the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard in the field of communicative competence of junior schoolchildren. The author’s modification of L. Michelson’s test “Communicative Skills” for diagnosing the communicative competence of junior schoolchildren is presented, aimed at diagnosing competent (position “on an equal footing”), dependent (position “"from below”) and aggressive (position “from above”) reactions of the child in various communicative situations. The technique is based on the theory of T. Gordon, who considers the position in communication as a criterion of communicative competence. The methodology allows you to determine both the level of formation of communicative competence in general, and each of the diagnosed 12 communicative skills. It can be used in the activities of the psychological education service as part of the psychological and pedagogical support for the implementation of elementary school educational standards. Analysis of the results allows us to identify communication problems that are most pronounced both in an individual student and in the class as a whole.
