IX ISCAR Summer University for PhD students: “Practices based on Cultural-historical psychology and Activity theory”

August 11-16, 2025, the Moscow State University of Psychology and Education, together with ISCAR, will host the IX ISCAR Summer University for PhD students: «Practices based on Cultural-historical psychology and Activity theory».

The ISCAR Summer University aims to provide a broad and in-depth discussion of the best educational, psychological, and pedagogical practices based on the system of cultural-historical psychology and activity theory concepts, taking into account an evidence-based approach to solving current social challenges.

The ISCAR Summer University provides participants with the opportunity to present their research project and acquire new competencies in the development of educational and social practices.

Formats of the International Summer University Events:

• Lectures and workshops by leading CHAT researchers;
• Presentations of participants' research projects;
• Group discussions;
• Focus groups and individual consultations;
• Problem-oriented discourse seminars (including methodology and data analysis based on participants' research materials).

Special event will take place during the IX ISCAR Summer University: a strategic session of representatives from the ISCAR Russia and Neighbor Countries Region.

The university will be attended by leading international experts in the field of cultural-historical psychology and activity theory.

The ISCAR 2025 International Summer University will also address issues of future professional development for PhD students.
