The Relationship of Adaptability and the Cognitive-Behavioral Qualities of the Personality (on the Example of Russian and Chinese First-Year Students)

Abstract

We studied the relationship of adaptability, tolerance attitudes, coping strategies and self-government operations in 93 Russian and 127 Chinese students of the fi rst year of economic faculty of St. Petersburg state University and Peking University. In the group of Chinese respondents, a greater number of linkages of adaptation governance and operations (planning, self-monitoring, analysis of contradictions) and coping strategies (search for social support, membership in social contact, indirect action) was identifi ed than in the group of the Russian respondents.
