Abstract

The article describes the theory of crowd proposed by L.N. Voitolovsky in 1920s and high- lights its major differences from other theories of that time. The specifics of the crowd as a social association, its disposition towards aggressive behaviour, the changes that the individ- ual undergoes within the crowd, emotional aspects of interactions - these are the issues that were of particular interest to the author of the last crowd theory of the Soviet era.
