Self-regulation of psychic conditions as an element of psychological readiness to act in extreme conditions

Abstract

The activity of the law enforcement officials is connected with a high level of risk, danger to health and life, recognized heavy responsibility for the results of accomplishment of official tasks. Only preparedness of the officials, development of their potential, may ensure the success of activity in extreme conditions. Psychological readiness to act depends on the personality features which lay at its bottom and psychic conditions. One of the problems of psychic conditions which have a practical meaning, is the problem of their self-regulation, the main aim of which is the harmonization of relations with the environment and oneself. This aim may be achieved through activization of the mechanisms of involuntary and voluntary self-regulation. The article examines the significance of studying the individual style of self-regulation, which consists of individual approaches, methods, forms of behavior, communication, learning, practical actions. The individual style of self-regulation is implemented through a uniqueness of an integral system of self-regulation of a person’s voluntary activity and is described by different complexes of its individual typical features.
