Typological peculiarities of personality and behavior of serial sexual killers

Abstract

The contribution is devoted to the problem of typology of serial sexual killers. It gives ground to theoretical and practical importance of research of this problem. The typology of serial sexual killers proposed by O.D.Sitkovskiy and L.P.Konysheva was used as a basic model for the research. The results of research of personal and behavioral peculiarities of Russian criminals of the stated category are presented. The authors describe the main stages of testing the assumption that there are different types of serial sexual killers. The data on statistical verification of stable types of criminals which were identified through quality analysis is presented. The contribution briefly formulates the results of verification of the identified types through the use of cluster and discriminant analysis. Personal and behavioral characteristics which statistically validly differ among the representatives of different types of criminals are presented as a table. In the process of discussion of the results a hypothesis is made on which of the identified characteristics discriminate a specific type of criminal.
