The mission of the journal ‘Language and Text’ is to bring to the scientific community the results of research in the broad field of humanities, to present new scientific directions with the effective use of Digital Humanities, to introduce new archival sources into the scientific circulation and to respond effectively to the challenges of the time in the context of the development of the scientific strategy of the Russian Federation.

This is an open access journal. All content is available for non-commercial purposes without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose citing the source. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.
The journal is covered in various Russian and international indexing databases.
The journal is recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation in the List of leading scientific journals and publications for the publication of scientific results of dissertation research, peer-reviewed scientific publications in which the main scientific results of dissertations for the degree of candidate of sciences, for the degree of Doctor of sciences should be published. It was incorporated in 2023.
Journal’s scope (according to the list of scientific branches):
- 5.9.1. - Russian Literature and Literature of the Peoples of the Russian Federation (philological sciences). Since 21.02.2023.
- 5.9.5. - Russian language. Languages of the peoples of Russia (philological sciences). Since 21.02.2023.
- 5.9.6. - Languages of Peoples of Foreign Countries (indicating a specific language or group of languages) (philological sciences). Since 21.02.2023.
- 5.9.8. - Theoretical, Applied, and Comparative Linguistics (philological sciences). Since 21.02.2023.
The editorial board includes more than 20 doctors of sciences of Russia, as well as foreign researchers. All of them have made a significant contribution to the development of their field of knowledge. Each of them provided written consent to join the editorial board of the journal.
Preparation of Papers: The published materials contain information about the authors, their place of work and the necessary contact details. Keywords and abstracts in English and Russian languages are mandatory when publishing scientific articles in Russian. All published scientific articles must include reference lists drawn up in accordance with the rules of publication, based on the requirements specified in the existing standards. Guidelines for submitting, reviewing and publishing manuscripts are available on the official website of the journal.

The journal "Language and Text" is a peer-reviewed scientific periodical, registered in accordance with the law as a means of mass media.
The main content of the journal includes scientific articles and scientific reviews.
Review process: the journal uses a double-blind review of all materials received by the editorial office that correspond to its subject matter, in order to assess them. All reviewers are acknowledged experts on the subject of peer-reviewed materials and have had publications on the subject of the reviewed article within the last 3 years. Reviews are stored in the publishing house and in the editorial office for 5 years.
Journal web site: Online edition is publicly available in Russian and English languages including annotation, keywords, author information for all articles and abstracts published, as well as full-text versions of all articles.
