Tactile Activity and Success in Training at Younger Schoolchildren

Abstract

The study is devoted to the problem of natural and higher mental functions development on tactile sphere (according to L.S. Vygotsky). Nyt research is focused on some points: revealing features of tactile manual preferences of boys and girls atyounger school age with different success in learning; revealing features of tactile memory of boys and girls at younger school age with a different structure of manual domination; studing distribution of success of tactile storing of boys and girls at younger school age with different success in learning. Object of research - boys and girls of 7-10 years, pupils of junior school having different progress in learning. Material of research: 90 boys and 90 girls divided into 4 groups depending on success in learning. Methods of research: estimation of manual preferences (questionnaire “Annette”); estimation of manual tactile preferences (updating), estimation of tactile memory (author's development of method for storing stimulus of a tactile modality). Features of tactile activity of children at younger school age with different success of training are different. There is a qualitative originality of processes of tactile storing with left-handed and right-handed children.
