Abstract

This interview with Aleksei Nikolaevich Leontiev was carried out by Mikhail Grigoryevich Yaroshevsky, a well-known specialist in the history of psychology, at the end of 1972 (the exact date remains unknown). The interview covers Leotiev’s recollections of his collaborations with Lev Vygotsky and analyzes the latter’s works within the context of Russian and foreign science in 1920—30s. Leontiev’s recollections shed some light on Vygotsky’s personality and reveal certain facts referring to the scientific biographies of the two researchers. The interview was transcribed by Elena Sokolova; she also provided commentary to it.
