Abstract

This material precedes the article by D. Bakhurst «On the Evolution of Activity Theory» dedicated to activity theory development in Russia and abroad and introduces the reader to Yrjo Engestrom's views on activity approach and its application to developmental studies of work. This paper gives a short biography of Y. Engestrom and a list of his main publications.
