Vitaly Rubtsov is the rector of the Moscow State University of Psychology and Education, director of the Psychological Institute of the Russian Academy of Education. He is a honoured scientist, the full member of the Russian Academy of Education, professor emeritus of the University of Visconsin (Madison, the USA). Vitaly Rubtsov was granted the Russian Federation President prize in Education, the order of Friendship, medal of K.D. Ushinsky (twice).
Vitaly Rubtsov is the head of editorial boards of the journals “Issues in Psychology [Voprosy Psihologii]”, “Psychological Science and Education”, “Gerald of Applied Educational Psychology”, the international journal “Cultural-Historical Psychology”. He is also the member of ISCAR executive committee. He is the President of the Russian Educational Psychologists Federation.
Current research
Currently Vitaly Rubtsov runs a range of state programs and international projects aimed at research of psychological factors of effective use of new technologies in education of different groups of children and adults. He work is carried in the frames of “Social-genetic psychology of developing education” scientific school founded by Vitaly Rubtsov.

Vitaly Rubtsov has published more than 200 works, including monographs. Many of his works were translated into English, French, German, Japanese and the other languages.
