Sociocultural Adaptation of Migrant Children

2209

Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of socio-cultural adaptation of foreign migrants’ children in the megalopolis. The author associates this process with the competence of psychologists and educators. The article emphasizes that migrant children need such intercultural contact as integration i.e. preservation of cultural identity uniting into a single community on a new meaningful basis. Considering the migrant as a link synthesizing both cultures, the author draws attention to the need for psychological support of integration and socio-cultural adaptation of migrant children. The article presents an innovative experience of creating a unified program for adaptation of migrant children: socio-cultural, linguistic, psychological and educational.
