Abstract

We examine the role of narrative identity in personality development, which is defined as the ability of realization of the individual project in spite of situational determination. As the structural and functional units of narrative identity we define “self-defined memories” containing self-esteem of the person on significant parameters of self-concept. We expand the process of ontogeny of the self-defined memories through forming dialogues with adults, describe the “developing” and “repeating” communication styles of parents with children according to R. Faivish. It
